Um well I would argue that veganism as a stance to reduce negative environmental damage is a solid case. But I maintain that vegans have no right to enforce or preach the diet on others if their reasoning is derived from something silly like, the ethics of taking a non-human life.

the stance i debate on is ethics but i will also touch on dietary (but im novice information on that) the body was not "made for meat" can i see some evidence supporting that? and if you want to debate me it has to be based on ethics, not solely dietary

ethics are why you feel empathy for people, things, and creatures around you ethics are why our society still stands i like you rei but i really dont want to see this full of "but bacon tho" and other derailing things please only post in the thread if it has to do with the topic sorry to be a nazi mod about this but its a pet peeve when i just wanna have a real debate xD

@Lamby Unfortunately ethics is just as bent by the cultural lens as law is. What you might think are good ethics someone from a different cultural background might think are disguising. Also, the concept that society stands because of ethics is nearly the opposite of why we are where we are today. Even the beginnings of agriculture were based on the establishment of social stratification. As a follow up, concerning the murder of offspring of a woman for self preservation, what do you think war is? We play this game to this day.

im not looking for a debate on meta ethics but my stance on ethics is they are derived through empathy if you wanna debate me it has to be on veganism and through that we could touch on meta ethics otherwise please stay on topic

Veganism is not a natural order for any apex predator. We are an apex predator. If you intend to shoot down every single argument with "That's not on topic" then you aren't debating, you are deflecting. You brought ethics into it. If I hunt and kill my own animal and feel bad for doing it, even if it is a necessity, have I violated your ethics?
