Unpopular opinions

Being a nerd isn't a good thing. There is a difference of being very savvy in an area and being a nerd, a social outcast. No one likes nerds, and it's even possible that even nerds dislike other nerds. How I know that? I am a nerd.

@nebelstern See, what comes to mind when you say "nerd"? Someone who sits on their ass all day, right? I'm an outgoing guy, I used to be a "nerd" but I saw greater opportunities, and when I took them... I became so happy with myself and loved who I was. No way I'm going back

@cur_lypav The nerd is someone invested in their hobbies and passions to the point they are detached from society and has trouble understanding social cues. Using the theme of this site as an example, the nerd (or its japanese counterpart, the otaku) generally has trouble speaking with others when the subject isn't anime. It can be a myriad of other things, such as games, sciences and etc.

Yeah, I get what you mean, and I'd once done that. I regretted it, spent much of life with nothing to show for that I had done anything else. Once I started going out with my buds, even if I was getting drunk... It was better and more fulfilling than doing what? Playing games or watching TV? I know you didn't ask, but this short, and undetailed story supports your "unpopular opinion"

It is a saddening and pitiful state, and it irritates me to no end that people glorify this pathetic way of life. I really want to stop being a nerd, but people are so busy and it'll take some time before my foot heals completely.

Being gay is criminally underrated. LOL had this account for 7 months, still haven't found one active gay man. Any others have been gone for years. I'm telling you all straight men... being gay can be a huge game changer, if you have the 7 months patience of course
