Does it really surprise you? America planted a flag on the moon and claimed it for the US without a drop of blood spilled. But that isn't how America works. If we want to take land, we have to kill someone for it. Well since there isn't anyone on the more, we decide we'll just blow up a part of the moon and call it square.

Since it is wiki i doubt it is true. Even tho the US had enough nukes to blow up the earth 10 times over i think that the politicians are smart enough to realize without the moon being formed we would not have life here on this planet and if it was blown up there would be dire consequences.

An interesting story but was just another piece of the Cold War era and a sign of the times. No different than Raegan's "Star Wars" ICBM defense network in the 80's.
