Gintama vs BLEACH

I guess the comparison is because Gintama was framed as a parody of bleach when it started? Gintama though. Especially if including the movies.

I dont really like either but gintama. Bleach i felt had no purpose or end goal besides flashy battles. But i will say that the aqua timez opening was pretty good.

Bleach was the first anime I binged watched and I enjoyed all of it, I really like the first opening, it has such an early 2000s vibe.

My issue with Bleach was that season 2 started a long trend of repeat arcs. It also digressed frequently with joke episodes that killed all tension for any serious story beats. I appreciated many of the characters and would chuckle at the visual gags occasionally. The show would do well with a Kai version like with DBZ. Cutdown the filler to help streamline the serious moments. Another way of handling it would be how Black Clover saves its comedy oriented episodes as a separate spin-off series. I believe Attack on Titan also has its own joke manga series were it riffs on itself.

Black clover jokes get stale, they recycled the same jokes for over 100 episode. Yami always taking a shit, lolicon, gloomy dude, dontlookatme. But i appreciate they saved filler for like inbetween arcs or major battles.

Now my argument against Gintama is that Saiki K exists. Gintama has a longer run time and flipflops between serious and parody in almost equal intervals as Bleach, yet Saiki stays consistent with their material. For every couple episodes out of 100 of Gintama, I laughed at the majority of each of Saiki K's jokes.
