Panda-kun...for real it doesn't matter what I think PDA is...that wasn't exactly the point right? You just kind of accepted the idea without it being defined. You assumed the definition and that said hypothetical law would be applied by how you defined it. But in the creation of laws like that PDA would first need to be defined and it wouldn't be defined by us but we'd still have to live with that. So on that same note...Normal is subjective right. What you consider normal is shaped by your experiences but in the context of politics that would have to be defined by someone and whether or not that someone agrees with either of us is all up to chance. In politics who decides what is normal? If I were making the laws you wouldn't agree with the laws I think are normal. You need more precise language when talking about politics. This isn't religion right? Where what the authority says is right, just is. Politics are shaped by many different communities trying to co-exist together.

TwoShy @twobananasshyofapumpkinpie Which explains why it doesn't upset you. Most people do associate it to strippers and sexual acts/exchanges. Ultimately, its bad optics for the entire community. If I was an event organizer I would make an example out of this situation, issue a public apology and might even ban the people who enabled it from future events. I think my stance is one of compromise. I think of pride events the same as I do drag clubs. It's adult entertainment and it's ruined by the presence of children.

She gets it. Celebrate sexuality and the differences there in, just don't do it around kids. I'm not saying not to teach kids about acceptance/differences, that's a different thing. I feel like this issue gets way to unnecessarily complicated for all the wrong reasons and that takes away from the truly important messages that need to get across.

Really I'm just super cautious about the wording of laws and to me discussions of politics are always framed as " I'd like this idea to be enforced by the state under punishment of fine or state violence". The idea of any community being harmed for a long period of time (Or the amount of time it'd take for our system to realize it was harmful) because a law was half assed is a terrifying thought to me.

I dont think anyone really cares at this point what the LGBT community does as long as they keep children out of it. This coming from me as a Christian. While i get the bible says its wrong and all that, i know laws will just send people into hiding it doesnt actually get rid of the issue. I think we shouldnt be teaching kids about this, people want all the kids to be gay and all that and im not sure why. If you are gay thats cool but why do kids need to know about it?

In the context of politics part of the answer is the 5th Amendment and the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment which mandates that individuals in similar situations be treated equally by the law and defines (some) protected groups.

Since when did kids have to know about all these straight people. If you are straight, that's cool - but why do kids have to know about that?

@animetidds kids shouldnt be worried about anything they are kids. I myself didnt even take interest in girls until late into my teens. Before that they were just meh because kids arent thinking about those things unless its taught by someone else.
