Bernie Sanders just made it mainstream back in 2016, and that momentum has still been moving. We ALMOST primaries Biden out. But then; and this made me loose what little respect I had left for her, Elizabeth Warren didn't drop out while all the other corporate democrats did. Thus consolidating the moderate/centrist vote while splitting the progressive boat. And now you know the back room deals our party has been dealing with since... Well, G. Clinton to be frank. Elizebeth Warren looks like a progressive and talks like one. Hell she has roots in activism. But the establishment has her on speed dial. They are masters at retaining their hold over the party, especially because of how they can leverage public opinion through the media. Speaking of which, let's talk about fake news for a second. Completely real. The ratio is 70/30. Unless you're watching Fox News which has a target audience receptive more toward sensationalism, then it gets to be about 60/40. The latter number is news that has been warped. Do you want to know how to tell if they're trying to manipulate you? They give the news. Then they have to spend time to tell you what to think. Framing things in a particular way to lead your thoughts. That is why, if you want the news, watch Cspan first. Then you could see your news stations and see who's taking stuff out of context. You wanna know how they handle Bernie Sanders? Well, Fox News of course uses him as the straw man to be like "COMMUNISM!" But during the primaries... You just barely see him in the other stations. Barely mentioned. Sure, they occasionally try to talk about the movement sweeping all across young people (In reality, his demographics are more diverse across the age spectrum than they let on). And sure, they have the occasional interview where they hilariously try to bait him into giving an "Ahah, I got you" answer. Only for him to use the opportunity to do that thing where he basically becomes a broken record and points out many of the unaddressed issues in the country, so it usually backfires pretty hard. But they hate the progressives. Always have. So they try to ignore them as much as possible. Because if they give him too much attention, his ideas spread. Now compare this to Trump. THE NEWS LOVES HIM! Doesn't matter how they frame him, he's a reality tv star, he's an expert at branding, and he gets them ratings. And he also knows how to use them as well, primarily as a way to deflect literally any criticism poised against him. Either valid or otherwise. So I know not to trust the news. I also know not to trust him. You know who I do trust? The experts. And it leaves us scratching our heads how you guys could prop him up like he can do no harm. We criticize our leaders. Biden, the Hildabeast, Palosi, lots of the DNC leaders have connections to the private prison industry. (But instead, the Trump Thumpers have to go on and on about the weakest allegations like the emails, and never anything that is actually a valid criticism) And Trump himself? Well, he did shit like this just because someone called him 'bunker boy', and this pops up on a nonpolitical channel? Sorry, but the dude had to go, and it's weird that no one in his camp criticizes him for any of it. Like I get it to an extent. Most of the time we can't talk about our criticisms because if we give you an inch, you run a mile with it. Still... You can't just go on excusing authoritarian behavior just because of that. Thats how con men win. We're still cleaning our party, and we don't see you guys doing the same. Just more writing off of sociopathic behavior and authoritarian tendencies. Spreading conspiracy theories that aren't grounded in anything outside of accusations. And dismissing actual issues that need to be addressed.
