Political rants

The way the officer rank structure goes is you have to be appointed by someone. I believe congress determines if they promote or not. For the enlisted grunts you just rank up without a care in the world but they for whatever reason made the military competitive. This makes no sense, why would we compete with each other in order to protect our country? It is just a breeding ground for scumbag behavior. Stepping on others to get promoted. I watched it with my last commander in real time, pushing our little clinic to the brink of exhaustion working 12+ hours for covid vaccines. Why was this? Because it looks good for him. When we as a collective do something great one individual receives the credit. When one individual does something grwat and receives credit for it. The individual above them can also take credit even though they have done nothing to contribute. Its a dumb system. This has not made the military any better. It instead puts strain on those who are already overworked to then have to do above and beyond to compete with others who have lessbwork but a better position job wise. My part of the clinic sees over a hundred people a week sometimes up to 400 a month. We never get any awards but people who do the same thing but for deployments get awards 2-3 times.

I feel thats why our military is so bad right now. Thats why we have so many mistakes like the one in Afghanistan. Granted no one in the top is gonna tell the president no. I mean that is career suicide. They are basically just yes men who get people killed and then take no responsibility for it. Those soldiers that died as a result of the failed Afghanistan pull out. Never will get justice. They didnt die as heroes they died as fodder. As bad as it pains me to say, they werent there to protect the country they were there cleaning up someone else's mess. people who left behind family and everything else. They served their nation well and for that they are heroes but they did not die a hero death. They died because someone failed them.

@dyadka_yar @hell_hound7 @verrucassault I have encountered a very grave situation that directly infringes on my rights as a citizen and can be easily exploited by local law officials to enforce martial law if they choose. This new law that one lone city has, through the cover of night, created endangers the very citizens it's supposed to protect. The ignorance of this decree shows because it fails to take into account all other cities and counties that border, do business, and has frequent traffic passing through it. In the state of Virginia it is legal to openly carry a sidearm without permit. The state also allows citizens to purchase a concealed permit if one wishes to carry discreetly. I am the latter. However in the city of Petersburg their local council just passed a bill that gave police the ability to detain and arrest any person caught with a firearm. The person may be charged a misdemeanor and be held in prison for 1 year. They are also required to pay a minimum of $1,000. This law, besides being against individual freedom to protect themselves, enforces a dangerous precedent. The city has no way of alerting every citizen of the state about its individual choice to charge both residents and visitors criminally for practicing an action made legal by the rest of the state. If someone lives in Richmond where carrying a gun is legal is passing through Petersburg, which everyone does do, then if a Petersburg officer pulls them over for a speeding ticket or a simple sobriety check, that individual can be immediately taken to prison if they are registered as a concealed permit holder. So myself, who has been pulled for speeding by Petersburg cops previously, is at real risk of being stripped of my rights to vote, make a living, and live a safe lifestyle because a random town in the state arbitrarily decided to enforce martial law! This is not an exaggerated statement. Many in the Virginia carry firearms. It is legal to do so. It puts an unnecessary stress on people to now fear traveling from town to town if for any reason one can be decided to be a threat without probable cause. Many people do hunt outside of that city. Many more work jobs in and around it too. How is it possible for one district to inflict a dictatorial ruling with extreme prejudice? For once I can see directly and agree, there is an extreme misstep being taken by local government. This will lead to many false arrests and create a fearful society. This cannot be allowed to continue.

This my friend is where you take it to the courts. The only way to fight these things is in court im afraid. If the state has deemed it legal making it illegal in a certain part especially when you arent a resident of that area and are simply pasisng by makes it dumb af. I dont get why people think the banning of guns stops gun violence. You just strip those who will obey the law of their right to defend themselves against those who wont obey the law. The American justice system and law is getting out of hand with these policies. Who is this helping? Do people really wanna see so much social tension that people say enough is enough?
hell_hound7
I mean i know certain states have laws that are banning something but a county that allows it. But if the entire state is legal then making it illegal makes no sense.

Exactly. The real consequences are legit citizens being placed behind bars just for ownership of a legal item. This is not the action of using the firearm, this is simple possession. Worse yet, Petersburg is gaining size. They recently expanded borders into my county. In 10 years I may be a citizen of the city do to encroaching domain. If that happens, this law would allow law enforcement to arrest me if I went to my own mailbox to get mail. Because I would be standing on city owned right-of-way. They did not consider this when making the law.

"Rather than finding that Trump defeated President Joe Biden in the competitive swing state's most populous county, Cyber Ninjas tallied 99 additional votes for Biden and 261 fewer votes for Trump than previously counted, according to The New York Times, which obtained a copy of the draft." http://31.media.tumblr.com/b1970054bacdd840e410a8e2e5b1edc1/tumblr_mrgprlu2EA1seb6ywo1_1280.gif
