@solid_snake95 Not trying to lend credibility to anything, but I feel like that's true to a certain point anyways. Children are very much influenced by their environment and not just their parents. In fact there are phases where they'll actively push away the influences of the parents.

I believe solely in the principles of our founding fathers. While some outdated and could not be possible in today's society. You know cuz politicians dont just have an open air duel with pistols to settle their problems anymore, so everything from those times will not fly today (not saying its a principle just that it happened) i still believe that if we continue down that path we will be good. No one shall infringe on the rights of others, the government will not control the people, and this nation will represent its peoples the way they intend it to.

@hell_hound7 you believe in the principles of people that lives in a different era. i don't even think you actually believe this, because those people owned slaves. you think the founding fathers were kool with gay relationships?
the basic principles they espoused were obviously good, freedom and all that, but that's just valuing the idea of freedom, not specifically their opinions on it.
societies grow and change as the people do, and the founding fathers were people of their era. why value the opinions of someone who lived hundreds of years ago on modern topics?

I could be crazy but I don't think their position on slaves and sexuality at the time constitute any principles that they set for the nation. Principles are just the foundation not the contents.

The reason to that rise of Communism and other archaic shit is that you guys are living in a time where the US' system and founding values are put into question in an intensity never seen before. Even Conservatives are questioning the system, which turns some into dissidents like Alt-Rightists and even AnCaps (they are prominent and vocal only on sub-developed countries tho). Liberals have always put the American system into question. It's their role in a Liberal Republic, because this might bring change in the long run.
The problem is that it's stretching to the point they put the founding values into question, thus making both sides anti-liberal, because the US is a Liberal Republic. Add these factors to unsatisfied masses, of course they will be prominent! Masses rarely know the concept of "long run", so they will gather to the one who proposes change. But not all change is beneficial.
Like, I get that dissidency is on the rise on the US. But if the Alt-Right, where some of its members are literal Fascists rose to social prominence, of course Marxists would. They always christened themselves as the only alternative to Fascism since after the WWII. That's because on their warped heads, they think that Fascism is but a tool of Liberalism when their hegemony is contested, a thing Rad-trad catholics also find credible. There are actual Communists that hate Marxists to the bone.

@momoichi yes they owned slaves but slavery wasnt a new thing invented by them and honestly REALLY hot take but slavery was kinda important. Without the slavery i dont think we would even be where we are today. As fucked up as that sounds, they wouldnt have used slave labor if it wasnt beneficial to the people at that time. Slavery also wasnt exclusively to black people it was whites and all that as well. Its just that one african tribe decided to sell off their own people and there you have slavery in America. I feel this country was kinds built on the backs of not only the founding fathers but the slaves as well. The puritans did whatever they did. But cotton was a big cash crop back then and allowed us to build up wealth here and establish ourselves. Then slaves worked on railroads with helped spread us westward.

The first sentence of that tweet I believe. The second begs for an explanation.

I mean, PragerU is a complete disservice to Conservatism. But still relevant (not positively, tho).

I see what he is going for but he said it wrong. He is basically saying they are fighting american values but because he used the anti-racist in the first half now it looks like america is racist.
