Man we're voting for parliament here in april, i really don't know if i should vote or not, i already know who's gonna win because it's the same shit over and over again, either our "conservative" party who are just oligarchs or the socialist party that just wants communism back. Fucking bullshit.

Rei @reisenpai66 From what I'm seeing online, I think people NEED to talk about it. When people use the word nazi so flippantly today, I don't think they really understand history or what they are saying.

Pretty sure Hitler never got historic peace deals. Trump did. Trump was far from perfect and far from what I would like but he is much better than almost any of the Democratic candidate's of the last 2 cycles.

My thoughts on the candidate I want haven't changed. I always wanted someone not part of the machine. We've had that and you see now how much resistance happened from the establishment? Now my hope is that more regular people will run for office starting from the ground up. But I hope they can move through the system quickly enough that there's a purge of people who have been living and working in our government corruption for the last 3-4 decades. On a presidential scope, people need to stop accepting the candidates that we are given by the elite. It's all in one of those vids I shared a few pages back from Professor Lessig. We need to pass the Anti-Corruption Act and make candidates work their campaigns from crowdfunding by the People, not money from corporations.

It's tough for a regular person to run for office without connections even on the city level. Even doing that it will challenge your principle's just to stay viable. Sticking to your principle's is worth it though. After I ran for Dubuque city council and lost back in 2013 I decided to work behind the scenes and ended up accomplishing more out of office than I could have from within. I am pretty much out of politics now. Occasionally helping out truly honest people run for office. The whole experience was toxic, I never once gave up on my principle's but I can see why some people who would if they thought it would help their end goals. I don't agree with doing that but I understand.

I know it will bring another bout of bullshit, but we really do need to pass the Anti-Corruption Act first. Then we'll have to maneuver through whatever the career politicians throw at us next to try to maintain their power, influence, money funnels, etc.
