its about the crack down on people found with drugs on them regan started it during the crack epidemic i believe, thinking that if we put people who have drugs on them in jail it'll deter drug use and that was absolutely not the case why this would help deter bad hombre's from crossing out border is because the usual reason is to smuggle drugs into America because we dont produce as much as they can because of the crack down ending the drug war would also improve on socioeconomic turmoils in minority communities because it would lead to less incarceration of young black men that's the for dummies version because i dont know the nitty gritty and such, just the basics and why it has been so damaging

the war on drugs is why black teens spend 20 years in prison for 2 ounces of weed and yes, laxing the drug laws would legalizing marajiana in states was a great step, we need it federally

Its more nuanced than that. Its more like an excuse to send people to jail. Like how cops sprinkle weed on someone if they have no way to bring them in. Shit, we've seen a lot of that when I was living in Columbus.
