What's the scariest thing you've done?

@completecontrol I can relate to having work done on the eyes. When I went in for corrective laser surgery the first thing they asked were how strong are your nerves? I could not take any pain killers prior to the operation and they in fact made it a point to hand me a plush toy of a cat with the instructions to hold on to it firmly. It would be my best friend for the next 2 minutes. Those 2 minutes that immediately feel like 20 the second that beam strikes the lense of your eye. Slowly reshaping its surface while metal clamps prevent your eye lids from reflexively shutting. By the end, that stuffed cat looked mighty squished to the point I'm sure no stuffing was left. In short, good times!

Handling an old F1 grenade that was partially rusted. I didn't know what it was at first when I pulled it out of a bog. Potentially it could have rusted through on the pin and activated the fuse. Would have meant death for me and about 4 other people unless I tossed my body on top of it had the pin broken.

I guess I'm relatively tame then... Ive had to deal with more than a few people that were being extremely unsafe with firearms... waving them everywhere (and pointing them at me), plenty of accidental discharges... Ive seen a few bulged barrels and squibs too... Thank goodness none of those times ended in anyone getting seriously hurt. The idiocy of the average person never ceases to amaze me. I got lucky, I never had to "clean up after a mess".
