Should I take this new job opportunity?

What do you guys think? I work at a hospital currently as a civilian but I have an opportunity to work active duty in another state for a whole year. Here are the pros and cons of both jobs: Hospital pros is paying an extra 7 dollars an hour on top of my pay due to working with covid patients. I have never caught it myself so I wouldn't consider it a con. The con is my job might try to let me go if I leave so long. Pros of the new job is I only work like every other day due to covid conditions and I'm getting paid $55 per diem which is like extra money every day for a whole year and is not taxed. So that's $20,000 tax free on top of my regular pay and BAH. Con is the area I'm in has high chance if getting the virus itself and I have to live in a hotel for a year basically. I already worked in my civilian job for almost 5 years so I have enough time to put it on a resume if I get let go. What would you guys pick if you had the opportunity?

Sounds like contract work tho. Leaving a job with tenure to do contract work sounds bad. Even if it pays more, think long term. Also consider if you're able to move up at all in current job.
