@verucassault So out of curiosity are you one of the people who find that Silent Hill 4 is probably the scariest out of all of them? Perhaps not the best gameplay, but the visuals and themes are the creepiest.

dyadka_yar @dyadka_yar I liked 4. If you look at the stories, 1 and 3 are about Harry and Alessa. 2 was its own separate story with James receiving a letter from his wife who is apparently in Silent Hill. Just with time there is evident world creation happening. 4 was different in the regard it introduced the ghost element and instead of exploring just the unknown the fear of entrapment and clostrophobia were introduced. I think the series stands on its own in being thorough with delving into psychology more than any other survival horror series. But 4 isn't my favorite.

And also for the record, since my Silent Hill boner is showing. Homecoming was really good. I know I could get a lot of hate for saying how good I thought it was, but some of the people on the new team that made it were fans of Silent Hill. I thought the monster creation with the game was pretty awesome. I remember how many people hated on 4, the Room as well. It's just a bunch of nerds online circle jerking each other based on their opinions. I liked them both. Even Down Pour had its good moments. I think Shattered Memories is probably the one that deviated the most from the originals. I gotta check out the rest, I loved the first one even though I got the worst ending :( That made me feel terrible during the end scene lol. It was all a nightmare/hallucination he was having while dying after the car crash. Still messed up though.
