The sad thing is Bernie isn't even that far left on the spectrum when you take the rest of the world into account, and when you have an entire generation get financially crippled over in the period between 2008 and 2011, and just as they start to build the savings, the pandemic happens... Yeah, sorry. Vehemency becomes pretty necessary.
But the difference between American politics and Brazilian politics is that Brazil plays at a higher difficulty.

hes far left wing for america
hes a normal lefty in europe
i love the man, I really do, I respect his heart and his willingness to stick to his morals
but the man has never gotten anything substantial passed because he doesn't compromise his morals for the greater good, he wants it his way (the ethical way most of the time, though I dont agree with his protectionist policies and rent control) and he wont negotiate
he's not a very effective polition (to my limited knowledge) but man does he have heart. i love to hear him speak too, so much power and passion in his voice
love you, bernii-sanders

Not really. There were three actually good right-winging candidates. Two neo-liberals and a moderate "conservative".
But we (conservatives and neoliberals) actually chose that neanderthal called Bolsonaro bc he also had neoliberal proposals and the chance of removing the developmentalist left from power.
Turns out he is a developmentalist even though he has a Chicago Boy as his economics minister.
So yeah... it's not that we don't haven't good candidates. People are just too foolish. But no way in hell I would vote for any socialist leaning/liberal....

No, what I meant was that Brazil's political game is a lot more hardcore than the US, not their candidates. XD
And man, reminds me of Obama. Came in running on progressive ideals, turns into a corporatist.

@choco thats what happens when you have corporate backers, you gotta concede to shit
until we take out lobbiests that's just how its gonna be
he did a lot of good for America when he wasn't being blocked by congress
Obamacare was a god sent and he pulled our country out of the garbage pale (democratic presidents are better for the economy FYI its an observable fact)

Not really. The Amazon Rainforest suffers with forest burns since forever. The lastest ones were the worst cases in the last ten years. In this case, it is not really his fault.
I agree that he is incompetent regarding illegal deflorestation. But that's it.
I disagree with ruthless capitalism bc corporations will just meld their views according to the current trend. Be it LGBT rights, BLM, feminism or other crap. That's where our views on ruthless capitalism diverge.
