It's a standard rhetorical tactic to divide the protests into two distinct categories, that is "peaceful protesters" and "rioters". It is in doing this that people are able to point to the people who have engaged in rioting - any time the protests are brought up - and basically use them as a boogeyman, creating a distorted image of reality, namely one that portrays people who engage in behaviours such as rioting and looting being in any way representative of the wider movement or calls for change. The reason why people do this: Why argue on the merits of what people are actually protesting for when you can just call them 'thugs', 'anarchists' and 'looters', and use that to rhetorically discredit everything they stand for without actually engaging with any of it?

bruh what really has me confused is the fact that ahmad arbery was literally hunted down by some racist shitlords and weren't arrested for 3 months they literally hunted a human being down and killed him that seems way worse to me than what happened to floyd

I think in the case of Floyd the fact that there's like 8 and a half minutes of footage of him basically being just straight-up murdered very deliberately on camera probably was a factor in people basically just finally having had enough.
