Tiki @alihawk Well its gravy. There's milk and flour involved, but you mix cocoa powder into the flour when you make the roux. Some places out this way know about it but it seems like a bigger thing in Texas and Oklahoma. I tried finding its origin once and I really think it must have came from mole. Like maybe one day someone had some left over once and biscuits and just said well why not? Growing up, my grandmother always made breakfast and we would always have eggs, bacon, biscuits, and either white gravy or chocolate gravy.

Choc Gravy Recipe Ingredients: Serves: 8 to 10 1/3 stick butter 2/3 cup sugar 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1/3 cup cocoa 2 cups whole milk Directions: Heat butter in a cast iron skillet over low heat. Mix in sugar, flour and cocoa. Slowly pour 1 cup of milk into the skillet and whisk well to remove lumps. Whisk in remaining milk, stirring constantly, until mixture is thick, being careful not to scorch. Serve hot over biscuits. If it's too sweet, add a pat of salted butter to it. Use less sugar the next time you make it.
