@swadian Losing a third of your men (1million out of 3million) due to being brutalized by the winter's blizzard, alongside the Siberian elite is a tremendous blow to morale. Barbarossa took 5 months, if everything went fine, my wild guess is it'd take around 6 to 8 months to crush the Soviet Union. 1. Launch the campaign between March and May, in order to avoid the harsher Winter in December. 2. Retreat/surrender reduces morale, but the other two thirds of the Axis had surrendered (I am considering only Germany's army. There was Romania, Italy, Hungary and Finland involved). Hitler should've thought a million men dead could create martyrs to rally the armies, but it reduced morale and allowed the Allies to counterattack. 3. Use the Soviet's production shortages because of the very Winter, somehow. But this wouldn't give the Axis an advantage because the Nazis weren't prepared for such harsh Winter.
