Funny thing. The official assassination attempt was actually a failure and Ferdinand was only shot because he decided to make an extra stop and passed by one of the assassins sitting at a cafe.

@dyadka_yar Technically they did got it before WW2 officially broke out, when Germany pressured Romania to cede it to Hungary or go to war, in an attempt to appease their enemies and remain neutral they ceded, doing it against with Russians on Barsabaria once more, this led to a Fascist coup which claimed to aim to restore it's old borders through war, thus, Romania joining the Axis
