140. "This bench always lies empty... Basked in the last rays of sunlight pushing amidst dusk, it offers an invite to contemplate the calming sea waves, the wind announces it's presence enveloped by the nostalgic aroma expelled from the ocean depths -saltiness-. Lonely and unocupied there's no purpose for the bench, no one is particularly thrilled to stop for long enough to contemplate the scenery, thus, it lies unused, -except for me-, it's rough on the edges, it's woodden frame has long given up and it's innards are grotesquely humid, and yet, there's only one available... It's warmth, it's cracks have no splinters -oddity-, it will keep watch until the last of days, how many tales could it surprise me with, stories, that I never thought had happened? Perhaps it saw a mermaid singing, it could even had seen a pirate group attempting to steal all within vicinity but failing to get past the militia. Plenty of tourists have passed through here, some have claimed "no bench exists", some that it wasn't a bench but a sofa, others that it was only a cold stone... It exists, however it has no occupants, no one to demonstrate that it can hold others within it just fine, it isn't properly understood. My attachment for it goes beyond a symbiosis appreciation, we are the ones who share the same fate, waiting relentlessly for someone to occupy our vacancy, and yet, another dusk settles leaving a bitter sorrow within us, it emits one last warm beat before secluding itself within darkness once more. "
