Oh boy! Where do I begin... So as a boy I loved .Hack Sign thinking it was deep and filled with lore. However when I went back to watch it recently...it really isn't. I know the games is where the bulk of the lore and entertainment was and I had a friend who played the game religiously, but only going off the show the best I could say is ugh... Bear was my favorite character by far, but we learn so little about his relationship with his son. Honestly if the show had focused more on Bear escaping his responsibility with being a good dad to play an MMO I would have found it more interesting. Crim was also cool too. I liked his friendship with Subaru and when he got to fight Sora for a bit haha! That though brings me to the one character I could not tolerate though. The main protagonist Tsukasa. I mean yes, the backstory for her is tragic, but we don't learn that till the very end and are forced to watch someone brood negatively for hours. Tsukasa is literally carried by the rest of the cast at every turn. Ultimately if the show spent more time through the eyes of Mimiru and Bear with Tsukasa being the third wheel that had to be dragged along I feel the show would have faired better. Or at least fill in Tsukasa backstory more in the beginning to make the audience be more empathetic before becoming exhausted by the apathy hour that was little miss sunshine haha! To end, I liked .Hack's world and concept. Plus it is the pioneer of many Isekai that would come later and the Grandmother of Sword Art Online, but I feel if they remade the series it would need to be rewrote to flow much more smoothly and coherently. https://kawaii-mobile.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/hack-Sign-Bear-Mimiru-720x1280.jpg

that is a very good opinion i do agree with you honestly one of my favorite characters had to be that mysterious cat macha who was just there mess with everyone, but i did find there was alot of deveolpment when it came to all the characters and enviroment but the games are a whole different bal game ive played them all back in the day for the ps2 and had to be by far what kept me interested in the saga

That was the thing, I would definitely play the games if someone lent me them for sure. How was GU though? I admittedly never watched the continuation to know if the characters improved?

I agree. The kid in me would love to see the .Hack world in VR. Again, the universe was mystifying but they did little to show it off. However the bonus episode with the three women playing one character together to see how far they could get as a team was a great episode and something I would love to see expanded upon.
