Coronavirus. Your thoughts? [Serious and Non-Serious]

Well apparently every "non mask wearer" is a redneck dumbass so I have to distance myself? So a mask on the shelf in a box is no different than a mask lying in a parking lot? Do you drink a soda and then leave the bottle on the ground because it existed somewhere so it's ok not to dispose of it properly? Even resuable masks is still considered needless consumption and Trump screwed up we're all going to get it now and we're all just prolonging the inevitable.

Sorry, sorry, sorry for having an actual concern for the planet. I don't have spare fabric and I'm not going to go out and purchase anything to make one. My 15 minutes in a store without any human interaction is a better replacement.

@inter_change order a mask online. I haven't seen any masks lying around but I do know they burn through tons of supplies treating people. So by that logic preventing the disease with a mask would be best for the planet.

Bubonic plague was always a fascinating subject to me. I've read all kinds of stuff about it. One thing that stuck out to me was that Jewish communities had less plague cases. Other Europeans began to suspect Jewish people were spreading the disease. The reason for the resilience was that Judaism has bathing rituals in their religion. So they were more hygienic which prevented the disease. I always thought it was nonsense how others couldn't learn from that and apply it themselves. Nostradamus was a plague doctor by profession. He used hygiene as a way to treat towns of plague. Seeing how people react to Corona I can see why people just went to persecuting Jewish communities instead of learning from them.

@senpaisamasan sneezing/coughing on someone is an assault where I live (because of the pandemic). I'm sorry to hear that you must go through those shit @alihawk - that's horrible! @inter_change For the sake of the others who needs to deal with a chronic desease/ being old / weak immune system - just wear a mask for them. Handcrafted face masks are ecologically worthwhile.

I still don't understand the divide on face masks. Wear them, protect yourself, protect your friends and family, be a good fellow citizen or community member. Don't wear them, heighten the risk of infection and spread rate, pass things along to friends, family members, people of your community. I really think the only reason why Trump isn't a mask supporter and doesn't pass a mandate is because, ultimately, it's people's choice if they want to be dickheads. It's their freedom. Imposing mask rules would just stir the pot more. Unfortunately those dickheads are going to spread the infection faster. Thanks dickheads. Nothing personal. It's just hard to see people who don't wear them as anything but a dickhead. Maybe an asshole. But I feel like dickhead is more appropriate here.
