I am planning to sell anime stuff on ebay. I am living in Japan by the way. Maybe I can buy vintage anime stuff at thrift stores in Japan and sell them on ebay. or maybe I can buy latest anime stuff in Japan which is like Japanese exclusive stuff.
I want to ask American members here because I want to have a business between Japan and America. America is one of my favorite country and want to connect in any ways. Anyway, What are popular anime in America? What are your favorite anime or game characters? I would really appreciate you if you tell me.

I would head to MyanimeList or AniChart and look up their popularity charts. They both mostly cater towards a western audience so it would be easier to gauge what's popular.
At the moment, Boku no Hero Academia is currently the most popular franchise in Northern America.
Edit: Personally, most of my favorite anime are older and not current. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Toppu wo Nerae(Gunbuster) ect

That's a nifty idea. Of course the American toy market is over saturated with Shonen Jump merch!
I already have easy access in my local stores to My Hero Academia, Dragonball, Bleach, Attack on Titan, Naruto, and Black Butler collectables.
However, I wish I could get my hands on more:
1. Re: Zero (Felix or Rem)
2. Hellsing
3. Panty and Stocking
4. Yu Yu Hakusho
5. Fooly Cooly (Haruko)
6. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
7. Durarara!!
8. Kobayashi's Dragon Maid
9. Overlord
10. Mononoke [Not confused with Ghibli's princess. Different series. Anime Man on YouTube has a statue that I am mad jelly for.]
11. G GUNDAM ( Master Asia is my Hero)

Do not forget the import video game and computer market. A Sharp X68000 computer or FM Towns Marty will make you a very rich man. PC Engine, Sega Saturn and Famicom also have their markets.

Thank you guys for responding.
I am going to research what you guys mentioned. I still don't know how it goes but I really want to start this business because I feel like there are people who want to buy stuff sold here in Japan. Of course I want to sell them affordable price. I don't want to take advantage.
I also want to know what kind of stuff I should sell
. like keychains, plushies, cards, systems like dyadka_yar mentioned. Like classic video games sold here are Japanese, people don't really mind if they are Japanese or not?

I see, Do you have any ideas? If you buy anime, manga or game stuff from Japan, what kind of stuff you want other than plushies and cards?

Soundtracks for various Anime shows like Fooly Cooly and Soul Eater or games like Persona and Final Fantasy.
I also enjoy posters and clothing inspired by different series. I have a ton of T-Shirts!

I can buy those stuff in Akihabara. Posters are good idea but it might be but difficult to ship because I can't bend them. So T-shirts and soundtracks are easy for me to ship.

There is are a lot of collectors in the US of video game consoles. For example, you would be surprised how many people know about and love Segata Sanshiro. There are more than a few games that don't require knowledge of Japanese language to play. So RPGs and text heavy games are not popular with few exceptions.
