What Got You Into Anime?

So what got everybody into anime here? For me it was the fact of it gave me entertainment i enjoyed and a way to escape the monotony that was life. then it grew bigger and became a part of my life and grew enjoying talking about various anime and watching other anime people enjoyed by talking about anime with them when i found people interested in it.

I mean same reason anyone watches shows or reads book. To get immersed into the story and to try to put myself in the shoes of the characters. Its a form of escapism, and with anime they can do things that cant be done in real life or show expressions we dont have to question if the acting was good or not, we can just focus on the story. I mean VA is one thing but anime as a whole is a very good way to depict stories in ways it couldnt have been otherwise. As a kid the thoughts were more simplistic but it all comes down to the same thing i think. Just enjoying what your watching and wanting more.
