Dreams are mostly just useless data that makes no sense. Basically, it's when your brain is defragmenting your daily sensory input and cutting out what's not important. Imagine if we stored EVERYTHING, EVERY thought, smell, sight, sound, touch, name, every sensory input from every day...That'd be an overload and our brains have ways of blocking out or choosing what to remember, our dreams help in the processing of information albeit mostly random junk. Fun fact, you can not dream of someone you have not seen. Can your mind put pieces together from other people? Absolutely, but not people you have not seen. "But this person seems so special and I know I've never met them!", Yup, you might not have met them, but chances are that you've seen them even without realizing. Your mind is an amazing thing and takes in tons of information that your conscious self isn't fully aware of. Oh!!! Another fun fact... The most common dreams deal with fear, anxiety and sadness. How's that for sweet dreams?

Who doesn't dream? Show me one and I'll show you a dead person. In other words, we all dream, even if you can't remember.

What? To be dead? I mean, that's about the only way you won't be able to ever dream. Show me the body and I'll consent that they indeed can not dream.
