what do you value most in a friendship?

Honesty and trust. A lot of liars out there and fakes of all kinds as everyone learns in time sadly. They claim to be your friend, but are never there when you need them unless they need you. They demand you to trust them as they lie to you and eventually betray you while placing at times the blame on you. So all the more reason to value such things, in honestly anyone these days. Here is hoping everyone gets to make at least one true friend in life.

As someone who's gone through a good chunk of ruined friendships over the years, I'm very much a person who has difficulty trusting others because there are people out there who aren't really your friends. There are folks out there who put on this other persona of themselves just so they can use you for their own personal gains. They don't actually care about your well being or are interested in becoming friends with you. And also, there are those who at first appear to be your friend, but you get to a certain point where they eventually don't want to have anything to do with you. It's pretty much the reason why I've barely had any irl friends for reasons like that. For me friendship, is all about good communication, understanding, respect, honesty and trust. Someone who actually listens and seems interested in what you have to say when you have extremely low self esteem, or being comfortable about talking about anything with one another no matter the subject matter. That's what I'd consider true friendship if you ask me.

I value transparency. Nothing is worse than having a friendship that is full of dishonesty, lack of trust and backstabbing.

Mutual trust and support. I'll drop everything that's not critically important if my friends need me. And they would do the same for me.

The fact they can have your back no matter what. I had a friend in middle school he was my first best friend. I remember it was the 2 of us some nerdy anime watchers and it was gym class. Someone in the class stole my shirt for gym and started wearing it (i know it was mine cuz my name was on the back) we were gonna confront him about it and possibly get our asses kicked cuz he was bigger than us but he didnt care he was right there. I also remember he didnt have a computer and was gonna take an F on a major project. But i came in clutch and put his name on mine even tho we were in 2 different class periods. Also shout out to pringle-sama she had my back that one time the dudes on here called me a player XD...there was also the meme going around that i was gay and someone else put a stop to that by saying i was her bf (i wasnt)
