Why Highschool Sucks (Or doesn't suck)

^ Gotta say Uni doesn't feel that much better. It has only been my first year but I've learned for more useful and relevant things on the internet than I did from classes.

My mentor at Uni, whom sadly left his job last year because he didn't like the direction universities were going, had a PHD in English. Despite being the coordinator for the theatre program he had a disdain for many art courses (except his) and he explained it to me one night while he was high at the pub, "Discussion without action is just theory and action without discussion is just activism. Balance discussion with action and you get true dialogue." He was referencing the two main factions of the uni. The communications and arts students who were constantly preaching round the uni and getting outraged at everything. And the science, maths and IT crowd, who didn't really participate in any of the uni's decisions or student autonomy and there were the fair few 4chan goblins who never left their rooms or showered. One group parading around unintelligibly and the other claiming they knew better but did little to nothing about it. My professor wanted to teach us (me specifically cause the rest of the class were extremely left wing) that through theatre and other entertainment mediums we had the opportunity to set up communication between the activists and the theorists. Cool pep speeches he gave but then I left Uni too because I was tired of being sidelined and disregarded for being politically incorrect. Unis kinda do suck in the arts/communications schools.

I am scared of Uni because i am definitely not political correct and don't apologize for anything.

I've actually gotten to the point where I do kinda fit in, I even have people saying to me that I make coming to school more fun and bearable for them and I see that as a huge compliment. Thing is I'm a game art student so most of the people in my class are people who have similar experience to you, me and most other people on this site when it comes to school so it's just one big band of misfits. But hey, there's no need to be wearing a mask, so what that you don't fit in just because our society values conformity rather than individuality? The fact that you are like that in my eyes is a good thing, you'll fit in with other outsiders basically and friendship isn't really about how big the group is, but the quality of the company, right? x3 Take pride in who you are.

@laff You don't need to be worried about the political stuff. you will find a group for you if you try. It was just a barrier for me because I was in a Theatre course that was VERY political. And a bit of a cult. I was initiated and all that so probably best listening to Tea when it comes to social stuff.

@laff Dude, don't worry about it, I'm literally the furthest thing from politically correct in a super liberal university, but I've found a group of friends who I really care about and get along with and they aren't all that politically correct either so if you're worried about being the only one, don't be. I have pissed off many people in the past year with the things I say and the jokes I make but it's like just don't give a fuck about them dude, what they think doesn't matter, they're weak and just looking to be perpetually offended. Fuck 'em.

Highschool was the most emotionally screwed period of my life. Not because of school itself(I learned to just play along with them, of course beat them up). Here in Brazil Highschool is pretty short: Three years worth. The first year I tried to be a good student, but failed miserably and almost had to do it again. The second year I was bonked in the previous school bc of "hate crimes and nazi speech"(kidding, ofc) and became a bad guy in grades. But still I was the topshot in Sociology because I debated with the teacher alot(imagine those silly Right(me)xLeft(him) debates, I learned with the previous election that it's worthless debating that...). Then I changed schools and was good in everything bar arts, but I started to skip classes like mad at the end of the bimesters. Not to mention I scuffled with my Math teacher a lot(because we traded insults to each other's moms and some punches too). The third, aka the last year I became a complete bum who wasted time only playing domino and being a dick with my Arts teacher. I even brought my PC to school to play some Mortal Kombat. Nonetheless, I was good in Math(UNEXPECTED), Philosophy and Physics(UNEXPECTED^2). Almost had to do again. I am considered the guy who is intelligent and talented, but that wastes his potential.
