^ sure didn't seem that way when you said "they can be under 18 as long as they're smart". And I dont consider it to be high school dating if one individual is 13 and the other is 18 xd

@okane: Under 18 does not necessarily mean 13. As I said earlier, we're talking ABOVE the Age of Consent. And the age of consent is 16 in most places. So, it's OK to be under 18, provided that you're over 16. Noone said anything about 13.

I don't really care about the consent laws, in my country it's 14 but I sure as hell don't think that's ok and 16 doesn't seem okay as well if it's with a guy who is 35.

With all due respect it's getting a little hinky because you say you don't care about consent laws but you're almost basically saying with that sentence that you don't care about anything other than what you were raised up on which just so happens to be on consent laws more or less because in some countries consent is 18 or rather some states is 18 which is also where you are considered an adult some places so now you're arguing in a way that's not the most conductive, this is a little hard for me to try to find the words to explain when I'm trying to get at. Whether you were an adult or old enough for consent are two different things but different countries claim you as an adult at different times and some countries claim you are an adult at 16 but you have already said that you don't feel that that is right either or at least in some situations so it's a little difficult to converse or argue with you when the age of consent nor the age of being an adult sit right with you so it's difficult to talk on the subject with you unless you give your idea of what you feel is the right age first.

I once saw a story about a young man(I'm guessing in his early 20s based on his appearance) who had married a woman of about 80(again, guessing based on appearance). I'm sure they had a lot of people judging them, telling them is was wrong, but that didn't stop them.

Personally I have nothing against people who are in those types of relationships. Though I honestly couldn't go through with a relationship that has a large age gap. For the same reasons that okane_o_kudasai listed actually. I've just never been able to connect with someone much younger than me in that way. Like under 20 has been a definite no for me for a long time since at that point I just start seeing them more as a kid and would rather just be friends with them.

When I was in college I casually dated a few older women (late thirties-early fourties), but I’ve also found myself dating women that are 5-7 years younger than me now. As long as there are common interests and yah know, it’s legal, I don’t think it matters

It's only weird to me when I stop and consider that my wife was 12/13 when I graduated high school. In the grand scheme of things, our age Gap is very small. As an adult, age between ADULTS becomes irrelevant and it becomes more of a thing about maturity/life experiences/desired direction in life.
