My most recent one was with a 23 year and I was 34. (Going on 36 now) Omfg what a nightmare that was! In the beginning it was all friendship strictly. No big deal. We’d play Pokémon go, talk about manga and anime. Then came the “your age bothers me” one day and “your age doesn’t bother me cause you like the same stuff as me” the next. Back and forth back and forth for 6 months. I’m just like ugh -_- ok whatever. Then came the “I can’t live without you. Marry me. I love you. I’ve put my selfish reasons(the age gap) aside. I wanna spend the rest of my life with you” I’m just like “ummm what?” Slowly started to date.... things seemed fine. Then the yelling, fighting over the smallest thing, slamming of doors and then the locking me out of the apt happened. Signals to run away, right? Then I hear “you forced me into this relationship I didn’t want. You raped me.” Mind goes blank. Next day, “I love you. You didn’t rape me. I gave myself to you.” Blank face. A year later. Verbal abuse, physical abuse happens. Goodbye relationship. 3 months of silence-heaven. First bad relationship with age gap. First one wasn’t so bad. Neither was the 2nd. Or the 3rd. This one? Horrible. (I left the really bad stuff out)

I was in a 10+ age gap relationship. She loved me, which I assumed it was just a passing crush at first but after some months of being friends and me getting tired of being alone I caved in. It was really awkward. We got along okay but had almost nothing in common. They were mature for their age and easy to talk to when it wasn't "yeet" this and "oof" that, but I just had a lot of trouble relating to the girl, it was like we were from different worlds. Of the very few anime/games or whatever she was interested in I wasn't interested in. she pretty much grew up under a rock, so I found myself introducing her to a lot of stuff as a result, and that made me feel like more of a dad than a partner. Guess you could say that was one red flag. Another problem is that she was raised like a boy, and I don't find those types appealing. I like girls who like girly stuff, and when I have far more interest in cute pretty things than my partner, that's no fun. Sorry to say she liked me a lot more than I liked her.

The own age, divided by 2 and +7. Easy maths^^
