An Evangelion fan-fiction: The Proposal

"It just began like any normal day... I woke up in my apartment, the buildings of Tokyo-3 just hiding the magnificent sunrise from my bedroom's window. The white sheets, which seemed to be all messed up, as if two people slept in the bed. I would get out of bed, stretching my arms, trying to be very quiet. I managed to open the door to the patio outside my bedroom and just admired the sunrise, rain droplets falling from last night's rain. It was a surprising night last night I do remember but not fully. All I remember was being at the bar, drinking with the love of my life as she turned 21. I took a breath of fresh air then walked into the kitchen, realizing I was only in my underwear... It's been at least a few years since we both became of legal age to get married. Good thing she found interest in me than that black haired kid named Shinji. He already had the girl with blue hair. Rei was her name, right? That doesn't matter right now. I remembered my plans for that day! I poured myself a cup of coffee and started going to my dresser. Suddenly, I remembered last night's events and what I wanted to do before I got drunk at the local German bar... Damn, my girl really knows how to drink! I mean for Angel's sake, the girl was the daughter of a German naval officer! Or at least I think that was true... No time to screw around! I need to get some clothes on before she notices anything off! I finished my cup of coffee, now in a robe after I managed to sneak it out of the bedroom before she woke up... I had just taken the last sip of my coffee when I heard a noise of a girl's muffled voice in the bedroom. A knock came at the door and I went outside to see what it was. Nobody was there except there was a newspaper on the doorstep. Huh, I guess the paperboy doesn't hate me at all. I opened up the paper and started reading the headlines as the door creaked silently open. I just got done reading the first page as I felt a female body in my back, hugging me from behind. I smiled as the person behind me spoke "Well, you're up early, babe". I turned around to see the girl of my life. Orange long hair, beautiful blue eyes. I could spot her a mile away when lost in a crowd of people anyday. "Morning to you too, Asuka. I hope you slept well despite last night's party". She just giggled at my reaction as I smirked. She proceeded to kiss me on the lips as she got on my lap to read the news with me, acting like she was still a toddler. "What's in the news"? She asked me. "Seems here the representatives at NERV are planning to host a celebration after the extinction of the angel kind". I was then reminded of my plan and I was going to go get my secret present for her when all of a sudden, the house phone rang. "I got it". I told her as I stared at her magnificent body. I then went to the telephone and answered it. After a minute of talking, I put the phone down for a second. "Asuka, it's Shinji. He's got word a new angel has been spotted"! She turned serious as she kissed me, got dressed quickly, and headed for the door. "Before you go, I have something waiting for you when you get home"! And winked to her as she sped out of the apartment. I waited for her to get picked up and then started cheering a bit, as if my plans are going right. So, then I got the house cleaned up throughout the day, went out to buy some wine and flowers and ingredients, all without the place being on lock down. You might ask why, it's simple! I asked Shinji for a favor to keep her there at NERV HQ for the day until dark. By the time the sun was setting, I was just finishing up the meal and got it on two plates, poured two glasses of wine, and got the whole place romantic. I saw headlights in the reflection as I finished turning the lights out and lighting a few candles on the fancy-looking dining table. A few moments later Asuka walked in, seemingly relieved as the Angel attack was all a "false alarm" she claims. To this day, I didn't know if Shinji told her or not. So, we managed to have the romantic meal when she spoke up, confused by the whole set up of the apartment. "So, exactly why did you decide to make this place look like this"? she asked me. "You know that surprise I was talking about"? I spoke to her. She replied yes and I pulled a small little box from my back pocket, without her noticing. "Well, it doesn't end at the meal, honey". Seemingly confused for a few moments at the use of the word honey, she was suddenly shocked at my next move. I got on one of my knees and pulled the box into sight of her, the candle still lit and her face shocked. I then was about to propose when she instead spoke first. She said "Yes. I will definately be your wife"! I was left speechless but managed to get up and we both hugged each other, her on the verge of tears. That night we went to the bed and slept together, each of us very close to one another. We decided not to get sexual due to it being an emotional night. Before we fell asleep, I asked her "If we get married, do you think you can quit NERV and we can start a family"? I asked. She just nodded and we fell asleep, in each other's arms. And thus concludes the story of the day that changed my life..." My first fan fiction story. What did you think? Tell me in the comments because I am open for critiques.
