What is the appeal?

So, ive been curious to know since I read a lot of manga and play otome games. There is almost always a scene close or similar. I guess its more a question(s) for guys? A typical scene, I'll use sailor moon for this scene. Usagi and Mamoru are on their date when they get caught in a rain storm. Mamoru's house is close buy and they make a run for it. When they arrive soaking wet, they deside to each take separate showers and mamoru offers usagi to wear his shirt after she's done while he puts her clothes in the dryer. When she comes out wearing his shirt, he is slightly surprised.... So, what is the appeal? I dont get it? Can I get what you all think please?
