Toxic fandoms

Didn't PC's at that time still struggle to do things the consoles were doing however? at least in the early-mid 90s before dedicated graphics took off and started really pushing things. I can't remember specifics right now but I remember discussing this with some hardware engineers at my former job there were certain things they just couldn't do. (I know consoles couldn't run games like doom for shit) I played both growing up- but didn't they used to struggle with side scrolling/parallax and such during the early 90s?

I have a master race acquaintance that gets into pointless debates only he start, and only he debates on (just say "hm ok" and he goes on for a while on his own). There's this game called Divinity 2 that he plays and I don't. He likes explaining to me how the console version is so much worst that it's not the genuine experience and you didn't really play the game if you played it on console. I know some games have differences between their multiple ports, but like, I think the characters, story and gameplay are the same regardless of the platform I'd be playing it on. Maybe keyboard and mouse controls are superior to a controller? What if I played it on pc but used a controller? What if I play on pc but lock it at 30fps? Is that a peasant move or not? Ironically he's using cheats/trainers and somehow this doesn't ruin the game for him. Seems to be a big ego or superiority complex thing?? But the toxicity of pc master race legit feel like racism or the highborn/noble attitude of yore.
