@mountain_tiger but if you go back i said for it to be name the trait xD i don't mind going away from name the trait because i just love debating veganism in general, but using name the trait to start makes the debate go a lot smoother i mean ofcourse there are times when its appropriate to kill animals, hell i think its even morally neutral to eat meat someone bought as long as you didn't buy it yourself and they didn't buy it for you. BUT i would again say that you do not fall under any of these criteria, and there for you are morally a hypocrite, which I'm sure you would disagree to, so the debate would continue (I'm having fun honestly x3) let me just clarify, you are ok with killing a child if they make an attempt on your life? what if your going down the stairs and a child pushes you because they are mad at you, you are then morally justified in throwing the child down the stairs? also yes i am using an emotionally charged subject like a child, but it is not just for that reason. pigs have the intelligence level of a small child, so if you wouldn't harm a child, it makes it even worse that you would hurt such an intelligent animal. You seem to keep going to the point that "if you try and kill me i can kill you", im not arguing that because these animals are not trying to kill you, so again there is no point to be made here.

@momoichi "Fuck them kids" What I personally prefer does not strictly have to align to what I believe is morally acceptable or not. If a child pushed me down the stairs in an attempt to kill me, I personally would just slap them in the head or tell them to fuck off. I however, would not judge someone who decides to push them off the same stairs. Any attempt at your life should be taken at least somewhat seriously, you only have one. If someone is willing to take a life, they should also be willing to lose their own. Am I a hypocrite for eating meat? If I believe it is unjust to kill animals or eat meat. I am tolerant of eating animals regardless of a person being a redneck or a city slicker. I'll give you a free point to attack me on since you love talking so much; the only real qualm I have about "taking a life" is if there was no purpose for it, or if the purpose was simply vanity, like the case of "trophy hunters". I mostly eat for sustenance, not necessarily because I enjoy eating, so I simply eat what is given to me or what I can acquire. In most cases, it doesn't matter to me what I eat as long as I have something to eat. I don't have a problem with vegans or "carnivores", I just don't limit myself to one or the other. That's more of a personal endeavor than a moral one however, so maybe you won't necessarily understand it. Think of me a hypocrite if you wish to. On the last point, if you weren't arguing on that line, then ignore it as irrelevant. I only return to the point because you keep bringing it up. o7

@mountain_tiger im asking your moral beliefs, so that's what i want to hear about. I'm asking these questions so i better understand your moral frame work so i can best poke holes in it using hypotheticals i find this interesting. morally i disagree, because, like animals, i hold children to a lower standard than i do an adult. children cant control their tempers like adults can, and so they should not be judge by the same metrics, and vice versa. hey I'm not attack you, I'm attacking your arguments and moral framework >w>/ no bad blood in these kinda debates, i just love debating morality. it sounds like you were agreeing we shouldn't needlessly kill animals. and lemme just say, I'm a hypocrite. I'm a vegetarian, so i still drink milk and eat eggs. i don't practice what i preach for my own reasons, but i plan to go vegan again when I'm able to. when i call someone a hypocrite it isn't a loaded word, its simply a definitional word. cause I'm a hypocrite too under my own moral framework.

@momoichi If you consider yourself a hypocrite, it will slowly grow as a weight on your mind. If you sincerely believe yourself a hypocrite, you should try to change that before you collapse under that weight. You calling me a hypocrite doesn't matter to me because it is no weight on my mind. I do have a certain respect for most life, but I believe it is sometimes necessary to take it. You might hold children to a lower standard than adults, but I believe children can be as smart and cruel as adults, they just aren't mature or strong. There's even adults who are less mature than children. Lack of maturity should not be a free pass for attacking you, that is how child soldiers are conceived as a viable tactic. o7

@mountain_tiger now now, i may be a hypocrite, but i don't use that to bring myself down, because in my eyes its an honest mistake, and mistakes are important to grow as a person. not every mistake is a regret children can be but most arent. child soldiers are conditioned from a young age and coerced by fear and manipulation. when young children are cruel they usually don't even know theyr being mean. i also don't think we have to talk about child soldiers as that's the high extreme. if a kid just hit me i would never hit them back. such abusive behaviors don't correct the problem, but only inflammate it. abused people can become abusers. also, my point was that if you agree the needless killing of animals is immoral, you, like myself, are a moral hypocrite. you say its immoral yet you participate in it.

@momoichi I didn't say needless, I said purposeless or vain. They are different things. Something needless and vain would be like, "I want to hang this animal's head on my wall as a decoration!" or as entertainment. Something needless and purposeless would be randomly killing an animal for the sake of killing it. Something arguably needless, but not purposeless, would be "I will kill this animal so I can feed it to someone". I mention child soldiers with guns as we talked about life or death. In the realm of politics it's pretty common to weaponize children for support. I hate that children are used as such, but they are because it is effective against people like you, who see children as vast inferiors. I do not necessarily view children as equals, but I do not believe they should be seen as totally clueless or retarded as most people seem to. They may be ignorant or immature, but they aren't totally stupid. They still understand the concept of pain, and them willingly inflicting it on others shouldn't be taken so lightly. (_ _)。゜zzZ
