1. why does it matter if aliens suffer but animals dont get the same consideration? can you name me one thing robs a sentient creature of moral consideration? 2. ok what if i could eat a human and not feel anything over it? what if i was a grave robber that just loved me some hooman flesh, then why is it wrong? 3. humans are so removed from nature that its impossible to compare us to animals anymore, so appeals to nature wont work here 4. why not beat them if it makes the meat tastier? they boil dogs alive in china for the festival because "it makes them taste better" 5. nothin i can add so wheres the response to the dog owner? this is a debate on ethics, not philosophy in the first place fyi, im not even vegan ;3

It is civil as far as I know. I never said you were a bad person or anything, but now it has become a strawman, for I have assumed you were vegan. 1. I've made it clear that animals don't understand suffering outside of instinct. If we are going to apply this to animals, then why not plants? 2. I can only assume it is wrong because it's now disrespectful and still disturbing that you are eating or would even want to eat a human. 3. We are nature. 4. The meat can be beaten after the killing

elohan, the point of this debate isnt to turn you vegan i dont expect this to make anyone vegan its to point out moral inconsistencies and to show you the hypocrisy of your beliefs

oh, ok here ya go riddle me this, if a man went to china during the dog festival and really liked the taste of dog, is it morally permissible for him to adopt a dog from the pound, let it sit in the crate for a few days to tenderize the meat, beat it up a little for the fun of it, then slit its throat to bleed it before popping that bad boy on the grill?

Hmm, Im starting to understand something about myself. Asking me about ethics is pointless. I'd say that beating the dog was too much, but killing it and eating it was about the same as incubating eggs and raising chickens. I do see the hypocrisy in considering one animal better than another though. If he served it to me, I might be open to it just for the sake of being open minded.
