Spaying/Neutering your pets

redhawk
Alot of us here are pet owners (me included) and this is a topic I've wanted to see talked about. How do you feel about this, are any of your pets spayed or neutered? If not do you plan to do it to them or leave them be as they are? What are your thoughts?

You 100% should spay/neuter. There are enough strays and animals in kill shelters as is. All of my doggos have had this done and have lived for 15+ years. Medium to large sized doggos. Also had it done for all my cats.

I'm in conflict about getting my male kitten neutered right now. However, I've decided to do it. In the end, would I rather have piss on my furniture or not. I think not.

We spayed our dog because her seasons made her miserable. She had to wear doggy diapers which she despised and she couldn't go to the park without being nearly raped by other dogs. In the end, I picked her up to take her home and I still have a small scar on my thigh where a golden retriever jumped up to get to her. Three years ago. (Bear in mind she was a 6-month-old Shih Tzu puppy at that point, TINY) So we got her spayed and we don't regret it. Had she had puppies she'd be heartbroken to lose them and we couldn't keep them. So I think we did what was best for her. She seems happy to go to the park year-round now anyways!

My dog is a small, mixed breed. We were worried her puppies might be too big for her to safely give birth to, depending which breed was strongest in them, so we had her spayed. Seeing how she cares for the kids in our family, I think she would have been a good mother.

First, Domesticated animals tend to live longer, healthier lives than thier wild counterparts. The only real exceptions are pure bred anything, in order to be a pure breed it must be inbred to the 'nth degree. That's why I much prefer mutts, less health problems and not inhumanely bred for certain traits that only hinder. Second, NEVER declaw your cats. If they get outside, they can't hunt and they can't defend themselves. Besides, they remove right up to the knuckle in order to declaw. Some vets won't even do it because it can cause way more issues than it solves. Third, Get you pets spayed or neutered, there are enough strays that will only be put down if caught and just be a nuisance to native wildlife if left to thier own devices.Cats, for instance(Where they're not native), have caused the extinction of many native bird species world wide. Cats like to hunt just because it moved and not just because they're hungry, they'd kill you if you were small enough. Still like them myself, but I more than understand they're not as domesticated as dogs.

spaying and neutering is best for the health of your animals the majority of people who dont neuter their animals are men who project their masculinity into their dogs (aka pitying their dogs for losing their balls) neutering prevents cancers, curbs aggression and territorial behavior, reliefs animals of the stress of the hormones (female cats in heats becoming extremely stressed when they arent mated with) and the over population of unwanted animals (bonus fact, female ferrets that arent spayed are at a high risk of fatal anemia) dont project into your animals, be responsible and take proper care of your damn pets bonus edit! dont declaw your damn cats either! its like removing the joints of your fingers! they legit take out the first bone in the cats paw to prevent the claw from regrowing, they need the claw for their paws to be in proper form, or they will experience pain and at high risk for arthritis! declaws cats often times dont use the litter box because the granules hurts their paws too much because of how sensitive they are now!! its unnecessary and cruel! not to mention if they accidentally get out their at higher risk of attack from other animals with their main means of defense gone it is so seriously cruel that it is banned in the UK and Australia and some states in america please do not do it, train your cats instead i give my cat treats while i do it and hes become way more docile and accustom to it also dont clip it pluck your birds feathers for the same damn reasons dont buy a fuckin bird if you dont want an animal that flies damn
