Cosplay is not consent

No irony. MANY people think touching is not violating OR sexual. They may in the same breath say "Rape is bad mmmk?", but have no concept of harassment. Nothing can be done now, not without something more substantial than "he said she said", unfortunately groping is not seen nearly as harmful and certainly not when it's a woman doing it. Double standards, I know, but if a man did it, well, he'd be publicly (metaphorically) lynched. All you can do is be vocal WHEN it happens, tell, scream, slap, something, anything except silence and seek to press charges. Again, if a man did this, I can guarantee people would be a bit more livid and something would be done(Even if it was just a reputation ruined. ). Sexual harassment is not ok, joking or not, under ANY circumstance, not to a stranger, not to a friend and not even to a partner. Let it go and it only gets worse.

well I'm glad that people are looking at this from a different point of view and not just brushing off like nothing is happening. she's right now ignoring everybody who's talking about it and her Legion of fans are defending her without a shadow of a doubt. at the moment she's being cancelled from other cons and fans are sneaking her into conventions.

True but it just seems like she is blowing it off plus some of her fans are even sneaking her into either the convention or other conventions besides that one because others have heard of what she has been doing.

I'll weigh in. When it comes to people like this, it should never be assumed that they will learn their lesson and move on. These kinds of people tend to not only re-offend, but also escalate in aggressiveness. You give them an inch, they'll take a mile.

I mean it's simply impossible to prevent it and in this case, taking preventive steps will do more harm than good. You have to handle these things case by case as each touch and reason or the lack thereof is different. On touch may be rape and another maybe harassment or assault so it's best to take them to court and file a police report if it's a big deal. I've been hugged before by random people but it's because they thought I was their friend in the same suit so it would be overboard if I had freaked and said they harassed me. I think a case by case operation is all you can do and hope that in time people will be raised knowing that it's not right to go up to people and just touch them.
