Making a better MO Community

Personally after being here about a month, I think my involvement came from a bit of lurking and then reaching out to a few people about either intrests or something they're going through. And once I had a few friends and my feed picked up, I was able to start talking with more people. That being said, it was kind of a bumpy start. The intro forum is a start, but it would be nice if there was a way to be more inclusive. Maybe the veterans need to be a bit more aggressive in getting the new guys to talk on the intros about themselves? Or have the new guys post a favorite meme or something theyre passionate about. Regardless, if everyone stays quiet itll only lead to a slow death. I will note that I came for friends and love, and not just love solely. And I am more introverted, but feel like Im an active member

@minijuju: First and foremost, welcome :) Second, I agree on the site still feeling like it's in the beta stage. Yeah, I haven't seen any mods or even the Admin. I just wish there were TAGS on these threads so I can find certain ones a lot easier. took 10 minutes just to find a certain one since I forgot where it was :'( @koyote2033: Agreed. I'm on here for friends and love, and a place to be an otaku without anyone questioning. I do admit I am a bit shy, not sure on introvert though (maybe). But I'm trying to be a bit more active than normal, looking at comments to see how interesting they are, respond to them and see what happens. Made some friends already because of that :) I think I will make that list, when I'm able to.

Kind a agree with the beta too. You don't see much change on the site. Not even different layouts to update it's style. It would be nice if monthly, virtual events happened based on anime. Or for the singles a special matching system. Like speed dating kind of way. Of course the members would also have to put in the effort to make it work by participating and making it work with another or just try. Seph can only do so much in the dating category for us. All in all new attractions and a dating system event would be nice. Probably bring out more people if they have interest in it. Probably even attach little mini games you can play with others. As a community we can only do so much. At times people just lurk or leave cuz they either find what they were looking for: *exp their love life*, or it didn't take their interest at all.

I agree with the beta thing as many others. I've just been here about a month, idk. I've tried posting a bunch and have messaged some people but still really don't feel like I'm a part of anything... But I'm still thinking it's too soon.

*honest negative outlook on the situation* I honestly think that the site should have a wipe of all the inactive users that haven't been on for 3 or more years and a massive overhaul of it's design. I may be wrong for saying this, but I personally believe that any of that is never gonna happen because this site has been stagnant in it's development for a hell of a long time and, while it's true that it's still getting updated there are definitely a lot less significant changes that there were in the past; I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of developers of this site are sick of keeping it alive. I know not of the history of this site so I could be wrong.

@CAC: A month, while still a good amount of time, is still too soon for any results. Give it time man. @Matchesia: 3+.... I think that's harsh, but at the same time seems legit. Honestly, we need ore data and idea on how to improve/fix things. I understand not many are willing to chat because of being shy. We all know this too well. Even if it's a stupid comment, just post something and see where it goes. That's what I've been trying to do. Failed a good amount, but got some results :)

Yeah I agree that its not very long. I'm shy but i'm at least trying to post a bunch, I've always been good at that at least lol.
