Your Opinion on Feminism

gundamu
Eh, I can't really say I'm a firm supporter of any ideology aside from those of human rights as a whole. I hate the idea of people using any type of identity politics to uplift one group and demonize another. When you create a victim and an 'enemy' to go along with your narrative...unsurprisingly that group that you're demonizing really does become an enemy and creates their own narrative about your group and the whole cycle of resentment just goes full circle. Now both groups need to seek more extreme methods to validate themselves in the eyes of potential recruits and the general public. Pretty sure this type of development will sound pretty similar to many other types of groups for you guys. :u

I really liked old school feminism, back when women actually wanted EQUAL rights. Not to scream & cry because what, men won't bow down to them? I agree with the whole pay gap side of things though I don't think it truly exists. I think the main thing is that women take lesser paid jobs like teachers or carers because that's obviously what they want to do and then complain when they aren't getting paid as much as some sort of CEO or even just a manual labourer would. Feminism in the modern day has absolutely shat all over males which I think is ridiculous. How can you knowingly campaign for women's rights but then ignore what rights men have? Something else to consider is the countries have different ideals. For example, in the UK as far as I've seen, men and women are equals. However in the more western countries, the women agree to be overruled by men because that is in their beliefs/religion. I think that's fine if that is what they want. The only issue I have with that is how if they speak their mind, they're disowned. I think feminism as a whole shouldn't be targeting the first world countries but rather the third world. To help the women that DO want to be free or speak their minds, get jobs, live alone to do so. They are the truly suppressed, not the women who have jobs and just want to scream because men exist. Like it or not, we wouldn't survive long without them. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

^ rat queen said pretty much the whole opinion that was on my mind too, I'm in full agreement there!

Shmmy Depends on what you mean as their goal of Equality. Is it equal rights and opportunity? Well then they have that and then some. If you mean Equal outcome, Then we'd need to destroy what we actually are as meritocracy. Which would come with many negative drawbacks. Otokaiser While there's no problem by not siding yourself with any movement or ideology. "Human Rights" can be seen as many different things. And with there being so many, it's difficult to live in this world without siding with one or another. Rat Queen, I agree overall, However I disagree that the UK is doing any better. The UK has many similar laws in place, also things such as affirmative action, ect. Just like the rest of the Western World. Middle Eastern Countries do need something like Feminism. However, They will never get it from the outside, considering The one's in the first world, only care about Mansplaining and Manspreading. While spreading lies about the wage gap, rape culture and female oppression. It's truly unfortunate.

You aren't wrong there to be fair. The issue I have with the UK now is that all of these religions force beliefs on the people who well, don't believe in it. If you want to practice that I'm fine with it but it's when they cram their beliefs down my throat I disagree. Unfortunately the UK as a whole right now is pandering to the people who do such things. I wish that the ones in countries like our own would turn their attention to the East though. It's tragic, really. I hope that one day all of these SJW's can pull their badly dyed heads out of their asses and pay attention to what really matters, true equality.

@Leo The Wolf sorry for the late reply. I'm not pointing that comment at you, apologies if it seemed like I was ^_^. I have thoroughly observed many groups of specifically young people and noticed that the majority of those people that claim to be against feminism are actually going against it blindly by not understanding the important specifics. They seem to only know of the red-haired mad SJWs that you typically see in the media(which most modern feminists are against anyway)I honestly think that the majority of those people aren't aware of the actual statistics and such. It's interesting because I've noticed those people seem to also side with feminism in a sense, perhaps it's because it's the majority and most young people don't want to side with anything against it in fear of being incorrect or ridiculed. I'm really happy that there are people like you that are aware of the facts but to me, or maybe it's just my perception of things, those people tend to be a minority. Then again it could also be a quiet majority that is afraid of getting ridiculed by feminists.

@Leo The Wolf Really? I just see 'Human Rights' as a very simple thing, not sure how it can be seen as anything aside from ensuring that the treatment of everyone meets a common standard of decency no matter what gender, ethnicity, nationality, or faith they have. This is a vision that ideally America should have achieved already ages ago.

Ratqueen, Agreed. John, Agree 100% Matchesia, It's cool, we all have life and responsibilities. While there are plenty of kids who just hate to hate, That's pretty normal for kids, teenagers, even young adults. It's the tribal, mob mentality. And while I rather a kid agree with the correct side if it must be by mob mentality. I agree that one shouldn't make up their minds that way, or they may disagree with something that is actually valid on said side. It's exactly about being afraid of not fitting in, However it's also about them being stubborn about not wanting to be wrong. They rather talk to teach, instead of understanding to teach one must be able to learn. @(Insert Japanese Text Here.) Well it depends on what your view of Human rights is. Some people believe that the ability to defend yourself is a privilege not a right(Fire Arms), Some people believe getting medicine or shelter is a human right(Without acknowledging you have to take money, at times by force from others to do so.), Whether they work or not. Some people believe it's common respect, while other's believe respect is earned. America has Gender down(Well mostly, They have some shit to deal with against men atm, But overall it's good.), Ethnicity is also fine. Nationality, depends on what you mean by it. Faith will always be the same until, people like fighting over it. Everyone has mostly the same rights in America. So you have that. But again. It depends on what you mean by human rights, due to the fact everyone has a different ideal of what is a Right, and what is a Privilege. Which is an important difference to be made.
