I Was Robbed...

chicgeek23
I'm not sure if this is allowed, but I figured it wouldn't hurt. If it is not, then I'll remove it. I've been apart of MaiOtaku for nearly 4 years. I was absent for awhile, trying to get settled down in a new state. I joined about the same time I've been living in Pittsburgh. I was at work when this occured in January. I've shared this with other sites for almost 2 months, with no avail, so I'm branching out hoping the anime community can help. I am not asking for any donations, but just to share this link for me on your own pages. My story is attached to the link so I'm just wanting to share this with as many people who will help share it too. IF you would like to choose to donate, then you'll get access to be added to my personal Facebook page, get updates, and a special thank you video mention if my goal can be met. The highest donor will be sent a special huge poster size drawing of their request. Any donation 5 or more will get a chibi thank you card sent in the mail. If you donate anon, PM me so I can know who to personalize the MO username to on the card. Anything given helps though. Just let me know in message and I'll PM my info to you and get your address. Here is the link below with my story and the details of what happened: https://www.gofundme.com/heidishelpfulhelpers Also if anyone else has gone through this ordeal or if it's happened to someone you knew, please tell me in the thread. How did you handle the experience, and such? How did you help the person it happened to? Thank you for reading <3 chicgeek23

I'm sorry to hear that but I have gone through this before so I know how it feels. This was around the early 2000's so I was fairly young. They some how pried open the backdoor while my family was at school and parents working so the timing was unsure. I just remember them taking my Dreamcast, N64 and Playstation 2. If I remember correctly we also had a large jar full of change that we would empty our pockets into that was taken too. Needless to say i was devastated that there are people like this even around me in a small country town. I was so use to seeing friendly strangers waving and saying hello that it never occurred that we could be robbed. My parents were at least sentimental enough to at least get another N64 for me so I would have something to do at the time. I can only imagine how that feels now going paycheck to paycheck since it's your hard earned money.

I'm sincerely sorry that happened to you and your family. Nobody should have to go through it. It has such a negative impact and hard to shake off afterwards. Did the cops ever catch the burglar? And yeah that's eerie because I was basically in the same situation. They broke in through the backdoor basement, which use to be my bedroom. They had done it somewhere between 5 and 7. I only worked about 2 miles away at the time. The messed up thing is that my roommates boyfriend was upstairs taking a nap and heard none of it. Once he woke up and called the police though who actually have a department a block from my job. They came in and told me what happened. It was so shocking. I think it was worse because this had been the second time its happened. The first time I knew the person when I lived in Missouri because they were staying at my place for a bit. I came home one night after going out and I just had a bad feeling walking up to my door. They stole my money, my sketchbooks, personal things, and an old computer, and other things. The one picture I have posted of the poke'mon, was one of those pictures I had drawn that was in it. It's so violating. I can relate because I know many of my neighbors too and I've had packages sitting on my front porch all night and no one ever bothered them. So it was just sucky that they happened to break in at the right time.

Sadly no, we could not figure out who had did it. I had my speculations of my sisters' boyfriends since they would come over from time to time. I wasn't going to call anyone out on it being as young as I was. Dang, that's crazy how he didn't hear any of that going on. I wonder if the burglar even went upstairs to look around for more or even noticed that he was sleeping there. That's really unfortunate. I guess the silver lining for that is at least he didn't get hurt if the guy would have panicked and done something. Luckily that was the first and only time I've ever had my house broken into. At any rate, I'd be willing enough to help out since I know what this is like to go through.

Scumbags everywhere. I had personal items of mine and my friends stolen from my car. I'm not a violent person, but I'd definitely curb stomp the douche who did it. I can only send my sympathies, my apologies.

That's still great. Thank you Haus. It's really comforting to know there aren't a ton of a$$h*les in this world. Yeah. The cops said it was most likely a drug addict. So hopefully they will just overdose. But if you could share my link that would be so helpful.

My grandparents got robbed a week after moving in their new house. Which is sad cuz my grandpa works hard to provide stuff for his home. He bought a wii for his grand children to play and he had a small flatscreen in the guest room which both got stolen along with a little jar full of lose change and some other electronics, they didnt really have much. They even went through their underwear drawer and threw all their stuff around. Also for 3 days, 3 whole days they revisited the house over and over before deciding to break in and no one even thought something was suspicious.

I've been robbed a couple times. One of the things I hate about this area in fact, it's just a crime ridden shithole now. You know someone's a piece of work when they steel a kid's piggybank. I've had bikes stolen, game systems, tools, and so on. People have stolen plants and light bulbs from outside my home. Even had someone take a trash bin full of cans for recycling. The house I just bought in fact has been a nightmare to work on, and because I work full time now I haven't been able to do much of the work myself. So that meant hiring people to do the work for me. So far I've been fucked over by three different contractors. One who had no clue what he was doing and only made more work, one who was dragging his feet while trying to squeeze more money out of me, and another who again had no clue what he was doing and wasted hundreds of dollars worth of materials, while making more work for the next guys, on top of me paying him nearly a grand. That said, the one that bothered me the most however was when someone got into my car and stole the custom psp I built. Money comes and goes, and most shit can be bought again eventually. But that was one of a kind and rather personal too. I've since tried building another and swore I'd make it better, but it just isn't the same, and it sucks knowing some degenerate piece of shit is out there with someone I spent so much time working on.

i was carjacked. had my videogame systems in the trunk too. they have not recovered jack squat nor the car. it sucks. but at least we have our lives still. was the door ripped off? if they just broke open the door, was the lock you have on it a kwickset? also 1 or 2 bolts? Also, do you live in the hood? or a run down shit neighborhood with a bunch of low lifes or in the city? Own any dogs? no hate, just curious, so i can take my own precautions in the future.
