What got you into writing?

I'm curious to all you writers, What got you into it? Me, I just love making worlds and characters. Would make stories with my toys as a kid to play through when I was like five. Just turned to writing stuff on paper as I got older.

Well he's already messaging me constantly, I'm trying to make him understand I'm not into guys, but he's just won't take No for answer!

Sooo...back to the actual topic of this thread. I used to write because I was a loner. Writing kept me occupied, and I have quite a creative edge. I haven't written anything for quite a while - I'm in a slump as far as writing and creativity is concerned. I tend to brainstorm when walking around listening to music - I'd use the tune or lyrics and imagine things like an anime, and keep adding to scenes or swapping them around etc until I had a coherent story. Lots of day dreaming.

Oh yeah, Music definitely helps when writing. That said, I'm usually using music to help me amplify the feeling of the scene, be it the sound or lyrics. But a few times a song has inspired me. Usually though, pictures inspire me more than songs. But yeah, you definitely have more time to write when your social life is far, less...well stuffed. What type of story's do you write Manga?

I wrote a lot of fanfiction on .net (and the completed ones are on AO3 now). Yeah, I used to write quite a bit of fanfiction there myself. Until I hit about 14, I started writing my own stuff. Have you finished any books and gotten them published before? Horror is always great. I'm into dark, adult fantasy myself.

No, none of my own are finished. I haven't written for quite some time, so anything that is finished would need a complete re-work anyway.
