I suggest going to the elder melder and have her make electric traps for you in trade for minerals I believe like you mine. When the monster starts limping do not immediately follow it and let go to sleep then set down the trap and tranquilizer bombs.

-If the monster is limping is guaranteed to be capturable (Except elder dragons, they can't be capured) -Set down the trap -Monster falls into it -Get close and throw tranquilizer bombs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hUyVH-GCzg
