All this time and I didn't even realize you could see who liked a post by just clicking the number next to the heart lol.

Alright so I guess I wasn't tripping earlier, threads do seem to be getting omitted from the Forum view (at least on PC / non mobile). They pop back up for a bit if you post in them but eventually disappear (at least that's the case with the Aesthetics and Random Thoughts threads). You can see it jumps from a thread from 39 minutes ago to one from 3 hours ago, meaning it skipped all of those threads on the forum view. Not sure if it's just ones from Random Chatter but using these as an example. You're right and I know exactly what caused this and have fixed it. The goal was the first load of the page would show only 10 results, and subsequent ones would show 25. This would make clicking 'forum' faster for people. But having different values skipped things. Anyway it's fixed now.
