If you are improperly clothed and this appearance is publicly available, it is paramount to a crime. @shinu I would ask that you refrain from slinging mud. It contradicts your false image of tolerance. Don't patronize me, you bloody sod. Calling me intolerant, as if it were a bad thing. I don't tolerate criminals, and both sides did commit possible crimes. We don't need to "change ourselves" for anything. People are fine as they are. Some are bad apples, but some are incredible and wonderful people. So bleed off with your stupid liberal "intolerant" labels, because it is a bunch of hypocritical, condescending crap that means nothing other than to make yourself feel good. We don't need to change ourselves to suit the times, we need to change other people to stop being selfish, demanding and conceited. We need to fix PEOPLE, not further degenerate ourselves and stoop to the level of rifraff. @Cinnaminion Indeed,everyone has a right to privacy. Not like those rights are ever enforced, and that is part of the problem. However, I find it awfully hypocritical to punish people out in the streets for inappropriate and indecent exposure, but not on the internet, where even MORE people would see it. There's one problem though cinnaminion. This was a doxxing, which means they had access to the device regardless of whether it is online or not. So the problem becomes "what to do to protect and enforce privacy". Anyone armed with enough knowledge, skill and intent can drastically alter and change the world. A shame that a person with rationale has given up.

I don't think you understand what doxxing means. By definition, doxxing someone is to search for and publish private information about a targeted individual with malicious intent. This does not mean you have access to their devices such as their phone or computer, but rather means you have sensitive information such as their address, phone number, legal name, date of birth, etc. Having access to someone's device is not doxxing.

@cinnaminion No, shinu's purpose isn't to be "progressive" it is to be "subservient to the will of others". That is what it means to change with the times, and false labels like "progressive" are a complete and utter JOKE and an insult to REAL progressives. @Oneman The internet isn't at fault for an individual's personal stupidity with sensitive information. This stuff has happened long before the age of the internet. Go look up the trials and tribulations of Frank Abagnale Jr. Put the blame on the person responsible for not being responsible themselves.

Doxxing can lead to hacking, cinnaminion. My buddy has done it before plenty of times. Hell, my buddy even got rid of an FBI Fake Virus using his programming skills. I'm sure they could take it with ease. I'm no expert on computers, and can only bring a case due to past observations. They could easily have access regardless.

@cinnaminion As usual, you redirect from the fact that I am correct. Not once did you contradict my statement's positive qualities. Your statement doesn't refute anything, and it is clear you didn't read all of my post. I never said it would get rid of ALL crime. Just cyber crime. As well as make all other crimes extremely transparent. You also seem to think you can teach personal accountability and personal responsibility to others. And here I thought I was egocentric... I used the MOST PRACTICAL solution, but as usual you just don't know how to form a rational counterargument.

Difficult and convoluted problems don't have simple answers. Getting rid of the internet outright isn't practicial, wouldn't eliminate cyber crime, nor would it make other crimes transparent. The removal of a global database of information would degrade the spread of information and knowledge, such as known criminals on the run. This in turn would ramp up crime and would allow more people to get away with it, and invite others to join in. Even without the internet, technology is still around. You don't need an internet connection to use P2P connections and stuff like NFC technology. As an example, people can still partake in cyber crimes by hacking people's pacemakers (which can be used to kill them). I don't understand how ignorant you can be to not be able to see this.

@oneman You are being completely illogical and far from practical. You even detracted from the original topic. Cinnaminion has a good point. We have mass produced so many pieces of technologies, that it is quite impossible to completely destroy the internet. Even if the main infrastructure of the internet was destroyed (Although that is unlikely), there are millions of routers, cell-sites, and local networks that people will find a way to exchange information that way. There are literally tons upon tons of PCB's and other electronics that could be re-purposed that way. Humans will always find a way to do similar acts even without those technologies. There will always be people that are up to no good, and there will always be people that will commit mindless and irresponsible mistakes. That's why its important to know possible societal consequences when doing something, and at the same time people need to stop presuming something based on one action.

No no... it makes PERFECT sense to get rid of the internet to prevent people from sending nudes to each other! Also, to prevent people from getting mugged, we need to get rid of sidewalks! We can end shark attacks if we drain the oceans! Let's put an end to drunk drivers by getting rid of all cars! Oh, what's that burglar? You wanna break into our homes and steal our stuff? Not if we get rid of houses! World hunger? Problem solved! We merely get rid of food! We can cure cancer by simply-... oh excuse me, someone's knocking on my door... Oh shit it was the Nobel Prize for "Greatest Human Ever" being awarded to me for my ground-breaking ideas to solve all the world problems!!!!
