Dat Boi, It's not that I don't get it. People are used to using the word in one context without looking into it's actual meaning. Same reason Mugi said cute does not mean sexy, even though the general populace says otherwise and has for a very long time(Of course depending on the context.). I also get that it's kind of an anime community thing, but even so I also understand that most in this community know it doesn'tnt just mean cute and really doesn't generally mean anything other than the sexualization of a minor (That can be the way the character is dressed or how they act.). Edit: It's not drama just because people don't agree. Y'all are silly as ever.
