How Do Your Non Otaku Friends React to You Being One?

Just wanted an idea of how people's friends react to their friends that don't normally watch anime. For me I've gotten friends into anime and then there are those that look down on it so I don't mention it but the majority of my friends have seen anime of some sort and found it interesting.

I only have one friend that is an Otaku like me. My other friends think I am weird that I watch alot of anime and some of them even tease me for loving anime. Either way I don't give a shit what they say. I'll just ignore them while watching anime.

in highschool they didnt care xD we just talked about normie shit and sometimes i would rant to them abit it, probz sounded like another language to them

I get teased for it sometimes too animefan4life but more so jokingly, hopefully that's the case for you as well and that kinda sounds like what I do Lamby since my otaku friends don't watch the same anime for the most part. Plus none of my previous coworkers liked anime so it was hard to fit in.

@Shadxlight Yeah they joke around but sometimes they are serious. I didn't fit in as well, but since I find this site I made some friends that love anime so I have someone to relate to.

iv been lucky enough to never really get harrassed for liking anime too much once though i was talking about one (cant remember which) and this guy walking past just shouted "DUNGES AND DRAGONS NERD" at me xD just wtf xD

Well I'm glad you've been enjoying the site! animefan4life and that's good Lampy, but that's pretty funny that guy said that lmao. Anime has nothing to do with D&D but apparently nerd culture is all the same to some people.

your "friends" shouldnt react any way at all. you're still you, just you like anime. same way there are people who like games and sports. you're no different

That's true, it's just different interests that's all but most of it is for laughs with my friends. For others they can think what they want so that's okay too, even if it's judged I look past it since it's something I'm interested in, not them.
