Most 'talented' people have gotten that way by practise and hard work, some intelligent people have to do less of it but nothing's 'free' Sometimes really smart people will not be able to do something than a less intelligent person can because they aren't used to having to try as hard due to their intelligence. The saying 'Hard work is its own rewards' kinda rings true, if you've had to work hard for every grade or skill then you'll be used to working hard, while other may have been able to cruise somewhat then hit a massive 'brick wall' that they have difficulty getting over as they havent developed the necessary skills or backbone. Its a problem Ive had, I was great at school and didnt really have to try, so I thought I didnt need to, but after I left I found that the work got harder and I hadn't developed the 'get up and go' attitude some of my classmates had. If progressing in something is really hard than your probably doing it right, as alot of the time its hard to see your own improvements. Look at Stephen Hawking, he's a genius but due to his condition he has to try much harder than so many other, he hasn't let physical advesrity stop him nor should you let preserved mental adversity stop you

I have a natural talent for sand sculpting. It is a talent I don't make use of seeing that I don't live anywhere near a beach. I feel really apathetic about it. Some people have useless talents :3

Effort gave me the best feeling when I tried to learned something. When I played piano and easily got the grip on it I didnĀ“t feel like achieving anything. I had harder issues with playing guitar for example and it felt great to learn more by hard work even though I basically monthly wanted to destroy that thing.
