Well if you are interested in going to your first convention or making your own manga then I suggest you read Dramacon and Comic Party
I recently finished two series.
First, From the New World.
From the New World is about a society that's hundreds of years in the future and a group of classmates are discovering they are not living in a utopia and that a veil has been draped over their minds. The story chronicles their struggles of learning truths and growing into young adults.
I found it very good.
Second, Ergo Proxy.
Set thousands of years in the future, Re-L learns that her life is a lie and is seeking answers to the series of gruesome murders in her city by a monster. She seeks a man named Vincent Law who seems to be at the center of it all. The narrative is told in varies styles and there's a lot going on in the background. It's not a confusing series but it's intentionally cryptic in many ways.
Gokushufudou: The Way of the House Husband is about a yakuza turned stay at home husband
for poor fags who cant afford the real book
A manga that is very underrated is kokou no hito. Its about mountain climbing, but dont worry, its more of a coming of age story than anything.
