Any Gundam fans?

I've only watched a few episodes of Gundam. There was a really good game back on PS3 called Gundam Crossfire. Check it out. I'm sure you will like it. No doubt I would have fought on the Earth Federation side but I defenatly like the Zeon forces mechs better. Kampfer all the way!

@kirot ah yes UC timeline. True about the grittiness, wish i had the time to watch more series but Unicorn was amazing, @waycuotaku Thanks i will look into. I haven't seen too many gundam series either, mainly Seed/Destiny, 00, Unicorn, and Gundam Wing which was probably my first introduction to anime. Although i was really young and it would come on late at night, parents would never let me stay up to watch it lol. As much as i would love to fight for the earth forces Zeon and ZAFT have always had awesome mobile suits. Maybe steal one and just bring it over to the earth forces lol. I liked the idea in 00 too, the idea of fighting for an intervention group.

A tad off subject, but still on the subject of Mechs. Mech Warrior has a new game in development, as well as Armored Core is rumored to have a new game in development. There's a trailer for Mech Warrior on youtube.

An intervention group? That's genius! If there was an intervention group that would be the force to pledge your life with. Neutral, but fights to support the overall balance, peace and stability of the galaxy. Sign me up! With my heavy armored Kampfer of coarse. ;)

@MidastheAlchemist Wow thats awesome! Actually i was looking for a POV mech game, never played any of the gundam games. Side note it doesn't only have to Gundam related but anything mech related i guess. @NOOT NOOT Gundam damn i wish i had the time to watch more. Honestly i think Gundam is just a really unique and cool concept, everyone should check it out. I wonder now that there's been a lot of advancement in Human genetics, are we getting closer to the idea of Coordinators? How about a space colony? Possibly Mech warfare? Thankfully at least there hasn't been another major World War, but with immense technological advancement and rise of threats or disagreement between nations do you guys think Nations would join up and make factions? Of course war is a terrible crime in itself, but you can't help but wonder how this is gonna change Military strategies. Would an average human be even able to physically pilot something so advanced?

The biggest hurdle towards a realistic Mech/Gundam is the mechanics behind one. While we have mock mechs built around the world, and that all time famous Japan vs America mech battle was scripted, its just too expensive and technical to make them. Plus their mobility would be highly restrained due to physics. Most mechs we see are about the size of a building, and the only engineering feat that I'm aware of that matches that standard are warships.

That's true, after seeing some videos of prototype mech-like structures they are definitely too slow. But i'm curious as to when these prototypes would slowly start being implemented in combat, if at all.
