Does anyone think there is such a thing as true care/love?

What am I supposed to do with life then?

To answer the title question, I don't know. I feel that my happiness comes in good part from that of others. But I'm conscious of this and when I help someone else, in a sense it is because it also helps my own happiness. However, I don't think true care is impossible. Some people working in NGOs operating in areas affected by starvation and such do so without expecting any recognition from the people they're helping. (actually it can be a requirement to be selected for such missions) Could they be totally selfless? Or not because they would still be achieving a personnal goal and in a way would still be working for themselves? In the end I think it does not matter whether "true care" exists or not. The fact is some people help others, some don't, and cooperation overall contributes more to society than competition.

@Emperor: You just confused me again. You said doing what I do is motivated by greed and never answered if it's good or bad. But you don't have to answer, I'll just get confused again. My head hurts x.x

@Havepun: I don't know, all I know is that humans tend to follow a suns life cycle. A star is born in a violent chaos dust cloud and then it calms for a few billion years and then it dies. Kind of like humans in a way. A mother gives birth to a child and is in pain for awhile but then the pain goes away when the child is born.
