Does anyone think there is such a thing as true care/love?

Do I think there are plenty of people out there looking for a relationship that arent arrogant, vapid, superficial, and/or intellectually devoid cheaters? Sure. The problem is a lot of us just havent been fortunate to meet one who is single yet.

Of course. I truely loved my ex fiancee who passed of colon cancer. We were broken up for years before she passed due to her cheating, but it didn't change the fact that I truly loved her. Then I found somebody that changed my world. I loved her unconditionally; she was my everything. Due to major trust issues and abuse from previous relationships, I ended up sabotaging something amazing and lost her. Distance didn't help matters, but it hurt knowing that I hurt her because I couldn't get over my past to make an amazing future. I'll always love Sam, but I cannot blame her for walking away.

I don't think I believe in a single "true" love, as I think everyone has their own ideas about what that is. I can only tell you how I define it, and for me it is a bond that is formed over many years, through hard work and dedication, and obtained after going through a lot of hardship with that person and coming out the other side as stronger people. In short, I don't think of it as something that just happens, but something that has to be nurtured and developed; and I believe it can exist regardless of whether you're friends, family, or lovers. I don't confine it strictly to romantic relationships.

I know love is defined differently among different people. I see your point Shawnji but that doesn't apply to me as much. Parts of it does but not all of it. But either way thanks for your opinion! Reading different people's opinions is pretty interesting because they are quite different from mine :)

True care can happen in friendships too but it's rare :D
