When a man is on a date with a woman, who do you believe should pay?

I'm a big proponent of 50/50 or alternating. Unless it's something like a birthday or anniversary and you're treating them.

I think the one who is asking out should pay not unless there's an agreement(what everyone else's said). By default most guys have to ask out girls so they are mostly likely going to pay.

I still think the man should pay. Especially considering the time and money it likely takes for the women to put into their appearance before the date. As far as the one who insists on paying for her half, I would love to sneak over and pay the whole tab behind her back. Just to see that priceless expression on her face. Mwahahahaha.

I like to pay because I know I'm in a financially stable situation and generally have no idea how stable their finances are (I'm pretty practical when it comes to money).I always end up arguing though (we both want to pay normally) and once we flipped a coin to see who payed and we were both happy because how can you get any fairer than luck?

I'll offer to pay first. If they say "No, that's okay." then I'll let them pay. I think I would come off as "controlling" if I insisted that I paid. I just want to look considerate.

I tend to freak out when my date is paying. Im not use to it, I like to cover myself or both sometimes. So its taken me three tries to stop stealing the checks from my dates. My first movie ticket I didnt pay for was priceless XD, I looked like a nervous reck.
